Members of the Black Student Alliance have been working hard since March 13 preparing to show off new styles of fashion.
The BSA will have a fashion show in the lower-level commons of Busch Memorial Center this Sunday, April 30.
The fashion show will consist of six themes: Black, Casual, Swimwear/Activewear, Sleepwear, Business and Formal.
Then a finale, Emergence, where all the models will come out and express themselves wearing what they choose.
According to fashion show director, Talichia Noah, “During the Black theme, there will be a monologue where BSA and the charity groups will be described.”
Banana Republic, Espirit Accessories and Clothing, Marshall’s, Callahan’s, Lane Bryant, Eddie Bauer and Express are the clothing sponsors for this event.
One of the charities to which the money will be donated is Big Brothers and Big Sisters of St. Louis. This charity is a mentoring program and has been associated with BSA.
Another charity is Youth and Family Center, an area for adult education.
Jamar Johnson, men’s fashion coordinator, said “The models are very dedicated and hard working. I believe this is a good cause because all proceeds are going to charity.”
BSA looks forward to a very successful event. Noah said, “I believe the outcome will be very successful.”
