Let Me Explain: Another French Goodbye

KATIE LEWIS January 19, 2007
Change is a bitch. Let me explain. For 21 years now, I've let impatience fuel my time. The moment I swam out of the womb, I placed my slender hand upon my shapely hip, looked up at my mother and said, "Damn, woman, it's about time!" Now that I'm slightly more seasoned and have a driver's license, impatience steers my sensible Honda.

Let Me Explain: Wipe off your nose and kiss me, Kate

KATIE LEWIS November 30, 2006
Cocaine might be a bad idea. Let me explain. English supermodel Kate Moss, possessor of rock star boyfriend, owner of perfect bone structure, holder of ideal first name, can't seem to keep her nose out of trouble. The designer darling lost modeling contracts and garnered worldwide attention for the Sept.

Let Me Explain: Rainy Days and Thursdays

KATIE LEWIS November 9, 2006
Sometimes I'd like to live an L.L. Bean life. Let me explain. I hate rainy days. I think this stems from the fact that, in the south, a rainy day = steam bath = baaad hair day. Because of this, rainy days make it almost impossible to will yourself out of bed and make the long trek across campus.

The moody tunes are reminiscent of shifting eyes and greasy hair, a mix of mutated folk and toned-down free jazz.

A Place of Your Own

KATIE LEWIS March 23, 2006
I've been corrupted by Corporate America ... and I think I like it. I know, I know, I jumped on the Starbucks bandwagon pretty late in life-our society's caffeinated six-year-olds would shake their chubby forefingers at me and pull out a pie chart from their mini-briefcases to show that I'm part of the 2 percent who didn't discover coffee pre-junior high.

Housing Sign-Up Frustrates

KATIE LEWIS March 2, 2006
To the Editor: Along with the majority of the student body, I had my housing appointment this weekend. ?Now, I like this school for the most part. ?I don't like the wireless charge (not everyone has a laptop and why would you need wireless in your room, where you can plug in?).

What Would Jesus Do? Read the Book.

KATIE LEWIS October 6, 2005

I recently saw a woman standing on the side of the street holding a sign reading, "The Jews didn't take Jesus' life." Okay-you're right. So maybe I should stand on a street corner holding a sign saying,...
