Tivoli Theatre
6350 Delmar, 862-1100

Since its renovation in 1995, the beautiful Tivoli has quickly
regained its place as St. Louis’ premier movie house. Located in
the heart of the always happening University City Loop, the Tivoli
not only premieres the less publicized movies and foreign films,
but also classic cinema such as “Casablanca” and “Rear Window.”

Hi-Pointe Theatre
1001 McCausland, 781-0800

Located in Clayton at the corner of McCausland and Clayton–next
to the world’s largest Amoco sign–the Hi-Pointe has been one of
the only theaters in the area to showcase some of those
critically-acclaimed films that never make it to the regular movie
theaters.

Esquire 7
6706 Clayton, 781-3300

Story continues below advertisement

The Esquire is the cinema to see and be seen … as a movie
watcher. One of the most crowded theaters in St. Louis, the Esquire
shows the most recently released films.

Chase Park Plaza
212 N. Kingshighway, 367-0101

Yes, that is a movie theater inside of that large building on
the corner of Lindell and Kingshighway. The Chase Park Plaza
Theater is located within the Chase Park Plaza Hotel. The theater
has six screens, most of which are relatively small. The screening
rooms are also small for the most part, but you never have to climb
over anyone to get a seat. They also offer a wide range of snacks,
including Ted Drewes.

Union Station
600 Union Station, 241-4444

Like the Esquire, the Union Station cinema has only current
releases. It’s a short walk from the MetroLink stop at Union
Station. If you wish to drive, parking is free.

West Olive 16
12657 Olive, 205-9800

Sadly, this theater is only accessible by car, but it features
stadium-style seating in all theaters. Part of a larger chain, the
tickets can be pricey, but there’s a student discount, so bring the
ID.

Ronnie’s 20 Cine
S. Lindbergh, 822-2463

Another car-only theater, get there early, because you’re going
to want to play in the immense arcade, with air hockey, video games
and other delights, including a mini-bowling alley, to make the
10-year-old in you happy. Even with multi-screens showing the
newest releases, the theater often sells out.

Galleria 6
The Galleria, 721-8722

The easiest theater for a date, have dinner in one of the many
restaurants in the mall, then head over to the theater for a movie.
Don’t look for indie flicks here, but rely on the theatre for
popular new releases.
