To The Editor:
Nowhere is there a greater hotbed of partisan politics than a college campus like Saint Louis University. With political banter rising to unprecedented levels in recent months, and the disgruntled teenagers on both sides of the fence spewing the same mindless vitriol, people caught in the middle must endure a constant rain of acid criticism.
In the past month, I’ve been accused of being too indecisive, too impulsive, “mindlessly cynical,” and “impossibly idealistic.” Barring a bipolar affliction that I am not aware of, I’m not sure how someone like me could be the brunt of all of the above complaints.
It may not be political, but more and more, it seems that those of us who sit in the middle get caught in the crossfire.
Can anyone else bear witness to this?
