Two juveniles were observed taking a bicycle from a bike rack. One of the juveniles escaped and the other one was apprehended and later turned over to SLPD. The bicycle was recovered and returned to its owner.

Vandalism
West Pine Mall
Two SLU students stole a DPS club cart as a prank. One student was detained and the second fled the area as DPS officers attempted to apprehend him. The club cart rolled into a light ballard causing minor damage. There was no damage to the cart. The male student was later apprehended, and the incident is being referred to the University Judiciary Committee.

Detroit Mercy Parking Lot
While on patrol, a DPS officer discovered two vehicles with broken windows. The owner of one of the vehicles, a student, was contacted, and she responded to the lot. The student advised that a cellular phone was missing from the vehicle. The owner of the second vehicle could not be located.

An employee reported that on Feb. 15, person(s) unknown entered her office and stole her wallet from her purse, which had been left hanging on the back of her office door.

Tampering
Detroit Mercy Parking Lot
While working on a plainclothes detail, a DPS officer observed a subject inside a car with the passenger-side window broken out. A check revealed that the subject had no permission to be inside the vehicle. The suspect had a warrant pending and had a previous F.I.R. on file. The subject was turned over to SLPD and charged with the above violation. A warrant was later issued by the Circuit Attorney’s Office for “Stealing Under $750.”

Unlawful Use of a Weapon

(1 Arrest)
A DPS officer on a surveillance detail observed a suspicious subject operating a car, pulled onto the lot twice and then parked. He exited the car and looked into a parked car. A check of his vehicle was made, and a loaded revolver and a box of bullets were found in the glove compartment. SLPD was contacted, responded and took him into custody. Warrants will be sought later this day at the Circuit Attorney’s Office.
