The construction project in Marchetti towers is nearing completion. The project is a part of SLU2000 renovations and has been in progress for the past few months. The inspection process will begin on Feb. 7.
“We will walk through every apartment and document any instance where the job doesn’t meet our expectations,” said Project Manager Brian Crawford. “It’s standard procedure.”
A letter was sent to every Marchetti resident explaining the procedure and times of the walk-through.
The inspection will include the following: double-hung window(s), screens(s), operation of window including latches, sliding glass door, sliding screen door, operation, plaster repair, caulking, paint and blinds.
“Our intent with this inspection is to be able to give feedback to the vendor, in order to do repair work prior to leaving site and making payment,” Crawford added.
More repair work will be done if an apartment does not pass inspection. Residents of these apartments will be notified with a notice on their door 48 hours before work begins. After this work is completed, a final follow-up inspection will take place on those apartments.
The inspection was held in Marchetti East on Feb. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Marchetti West inspections will take place on Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
