Students from all over the country will begin arriving by bus to Saint Louis University to take part in its annual future freshmen weekend this Saturday, March 31.
The 240 students participating in this weekend have already been accepted to SLU. The weekend begins Saturday afternoon and lasts until Monday, April 2.
“We will be having about as many future freshmen for this year’s weekend as last year,” said Lainie Korn, program coordinator in the admission department.
This weekend was designed to help students who have already been accepted to SLU get a better idea of campus life and the opportunities available here.
On Saturday evening, these future freshmen will be entertained by a hypnotist, sponsored by the Student Activities Board.
On Sunday, students will visit the different departments they are interested in and take a tour of campus. Later in the day, students will be taken downtown to visit the Arch and dine out for dinner.
A reception will be held after 10 p.m. mass and is sponsored by Campus Ministry. All students are invited to attend this reception.
On Monday, students will be attending classes in fields they are interested in going into.
During the weekend, future freshmen will be the guests of SLU students within the residence halls. Many of these hosts participate in ClubSLU, an organization in which students volunteer to house overnight SLU visitors. Others volunteered to house future freshmen for just the weekend’s event.
