A visitor reported that while visiting KSLU, her wallet and cell phone were taken from her purse. It was left unattended in the lounge area.

An employee reported that he conducted a yearly inventory and noticed that an overhead projector valued at $280 was missing from a locked storage closet. The projector was last seen this past November.

Attempted Stealing Under $750

A student reported that while she was walking on the sidewalk in front of DuBourg Hall, she was approached by an unknown male subject. He struck her right hand and tried to grab her wallet but was unsuccessful. DPS officers responded and pursued the subject and his accomplices, but lost them in the area of the Bluemeyer Housing Complex. The student was not injured. SLPD responded and filed a report.

A student reported that while walking at the above location on the city street, he was approached by an unknown male subject who struck him in the face for no apparent reason.
The student refused medical attention.
5. Tuesday, Feb. 5
Tampering With A Motor Vehicle
Saint Joseph Lot (1 Arrest)
A DPS officer observed a subject walk onto the lot and break into a vehicle. A short pursuit ensued and the subject was apprehended. He was detained and later turned over to SLPD. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Metro Link Station
A University employee reported that approximately a week ago she was accosted by a male subject while walking down the stairs. The subject fled the scene when another individual interrupted the incident. Bi-State Security and SLPD were notified.

Pius Library (1 Arrest)
DPS responded in reference to a male subject video taping women’s feet in the library. The subject was detained and positively identified by the female student who reported the incident.
The subject was taken to the DPS office in DuBourg Hall where his background was checked. He was not on any wanted lists.
He was briefed on the University trespassing policy and told not to return to the campus. He was then turned over to SLPD. A warrant was later refused by the Circuit Attorney’s Office for Assault 3rd Degree.
8. Saturday, Feb. 9
Trespassing
Village Apartments (2 Arrests)
Residents reported that two unknown subjects attempted to enter their unlocked room. DPS responded and apprehended one subject near the main gate and caught the second subject at Laclede and Vandeventer. One subject was turned over to SLPD for having an active warrant against him and the second was issued a summons for trespassing and released. The subjects stated they were trying to find a party they had been invited to.

A visitor to the University took property belonging to a student. The property was returned and the student didn’t want to press charges. Residence Life handled the incident.
