The Chocolate Bar is a fairly new dessert and confectionary palace serving the best in sweets. It is the place to be for all of those who live on the calorie side of life.

Blake Brokaw started The Chocolate Bar about three months ago, and the response has been enthusiastic. Brokaw is also the owner of the Tangerine Low and the Hungry Buddha. The Chocolate Bar’s manager, John Cozad, works hard make every customer is happy.
“Business has been unbelievable. The lines are out the door every Friday and Saturday night. We work hard to keep the line moving quickly without taking away from the service,” Cozad remarked.
Everything in The Chocolate Bar is sweet. They make their own truffles daily, which are named after different sections of the city, like The South Grand and The Lafayette Square. The Lafayette looked simply divine, with its mixture of chocolate and toffee. The bar also sells fresh-baked goodies like milk chocolate oatmeal cookies and chocolate-covered rice crispy treats. The cookies were superb.
One of the specialties of the bar is the signature chocolate drinks made to order. The Pastolozzi is a concoction of Swiss chocolate, milk and light spice producing a medium bodied chocolate rush available hot or over ice.
The La Morta is a rich chocolate sensation made with heavy cr?me and vanilla beans. The La Morta can fill you up and make everything else in life not seem so bad.
The Chocolate Bar is the place to go after dinner or theater productions. The bar has a room filled with candlelit tables in back, where people can sit and enjoy desserts like the frosty frosty chocolate cake or some of the specialty coffees on tap. On Friday and Saturday nights The Chocolate Bar plays host to DJs. The mild jazz and funk add to the atmosphere without detracting from the customers’ conversations.
If you are looking for that perfect gift, The Chocolate Bar sells a lot of pre-packaged chocolates and also does gift packages. All of the cakes, pies and pretty much everything else are available to go.
They also serve a light lunch which includes flat bread and a salad from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Besides all of the fresh chocolates, old favorites like Pixie Sticks are available.
“Kids are the greatest. They pass by all of the gourmet chocolate and head straight for the Pez,” observed Cozad.
