Ryan Adams records whole albums in about the same time most artists record a song. In the year since Gold, Adams has written and recorded a rock album, an acoustic album, an alt-country album, even an album that is simply a cover of The Strokes’ Is This It. Because there was so much material, he opted instead to take the best of these several recording sessions (except for the Strokes cover session, unfortunately), and collect them into this wonderful gem of an album. This has everything that one should expect from Adams, as well as any other great songwriter.
