In remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Black Student Alliance will be hold activities beginning at 3 p.m. on Monday.
The afternoon starts out in the Quad where a short introductory speech will be given and a musical selection will be played.
A freedom march to the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium follows the introduction. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech will be played in the auditorium along with more songs and reflections by students.
“I hope people can make it out,” said David Young, president of BSA.
The hour-long event, which is open to the entire University, will be concluded with a speech by Kathy Humphrey, vice president for student development.
The St. Louis Archdiocese will also be celebrating the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its 27th annual Commemoration Mass, celebrating his words, acts and deeds for social justice.
The Mass will take place at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier College Church.
