The Billiken Club
Solo singer-songwriter David Bazan and New York and Boston based indie rock band Via Audio will play The Billiken Club this Friday, beginning at 9 p.m.
“David Bazan has actually played The Billiken Club for the past three years and every single time he has a great turnout,” said junior Sanita Saengvilay, booking manager for the venue. “His music seems to relate to a wide array of people . . . Our venue is big, but still small enough to make it an intimate show. David usually ends every show with a question and answer session and that would probably be hard to do in another place.”
Check out the music of David Bazan at myspace.com/davidbazan or visit www.davidbazan.com. For more information about Via Audio or to listen to their music, visit myspace.com/viaaudio or www.viaaudio.net.
Admission is free.

Beyond All Reason
Beyond All Reason, Saint Louis University’s all-female a cappela singing troupe, will hold its winter concert, Babes in Toyland, this Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. in the Busch Student Center Ballrooms, located on the ground floor of the BSC.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Rachel Halicks, president of Beyond All Reason. “We’re going to be doing songs that are new for us.”
The group is practicing every night this week to prepare for the concert.
“We’ve been working really hard on these new ones for the last couple weeks,” Halicks said. “We have a lot of variety . . . [The songs] will range from oldies to anything you hear on the radio right now.”
Tickets are on sale today and tomorrow for $5 in the BSC from from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can also be purchased at the door.

Festival of One Acts
Saint Louis University Theatre’s Festival of One Acts will hit the studio theater in Xavier Hall beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and continuing tomorrow at 10:00 p.m.
The performances will consist of five one-act plays directed by students in the Advanced Directing class.
“Each one of the different one-acts is completely different,” said SLU sophomore James Canfield. “There’s something for everyone . . . I think [audiences are] going to get a really great night of theater.”
Canfield stars in the one-act “The Facts of Winter,” by Paul Poissel and adapted for stage and directed by senior Lindsey Trout.
“It’s a really cool, more performance arts-centric piece,” he said. “It’s been different from other types of theater.”
Admission to the Festival of One Acts is free and open to the public.

KSLU Snowball
Saint Louis University radio station, KSLU, will throw its annual Snowball dance this Saturday, beginning at 9 p.m. and ending at 1 a.m. The dance will be held in the Saint Louis Room, located on the third floor of the Busch Student Center.
“We highly encourage everyone on campus to come,” said Leah Ducey, events manager for KSLU. “People can expect to have a great time dancing the night away with tunes from their own music libraries.”
Ducey hopes the event is a night to remember for students.
“We are expecting this year to be our best one yet,” she said. “We love having a wide variety of music, and we want lots of people to be involved . . . We have invited everyone on campus as well as some other local radio stations to join us.”
The night is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring a favorite song on CD or their iPod to the Snowball to be played. For more information about KSLU, including a programming schedule, contact information and more, visit kslu.slu.edu.
