On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Saint Louis University Museum of Art will kick off a new program.
Second Sunday Serenades, a program devoted to the combination of music and art, begins this weekend at the museum.
The second Sunday of each month, the museum will host musicians from the University’s music department, who will play while patrons of the museum walk through the gallery.
This week’s inaugural Second Sunday Serenades is entitled ‘Sip and Serenade.’ In addition to the music, there will be a wine-tasting provided by Randall’s Wine & Spirits.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Since it is scheduled after Mass at Saint Francis Xavier College Church, the organizers hope to attract the after-church crowd.
Future Second Sunday Serenades will happen on Nov. 8 and Dec. 13.
Members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra are scheduled to perform at the Nov. 8 show.
The Dec. 13 show will be a Christmas-themed event, featuring keyboardists Diana Umali and Angie LaMacchia of the SLU Fine and Performing Arts department.
SLUMA is located at 3663 Lindell Blvd.
