Music gurus will want to travel to the Loop, as 311 comes to town tonight to rock St. Louis and the Pageant. Fans will not want to miss this show, as the band plays a much smaller venue.

The multi-instrumentalist brings his band to St. Louis to play Mississippi Nights for one night only. He will surely cover a wide range of sounds including Bluegrass and Jazz and probably everything in between. Fans will not want to miss this high-energy experience.

Bea Auther @ the Pageant

Sept. 21

For the fans of the Golden Girls or Maude, the one and only Bea Arthur will be in town for three performances of her hit live Broadway like show “And then There’s Bea”. The show features an uncensored evening of story telling and song. The production runs Friday and Saturday.

Missouri Chili Cook-Off

Sept. 22

If the daring mood strikes you or if you just can’t pass up a good bowl of chili, then the chili cook-off is for you. The best in the area will compete to satisfy your taste buds. Javier Mendoza and also Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas will provide live music.

John Pizzarelli @ the Bistro

Sept. 20-23

Jazz at the Bistro starts up its new season in style with the John Pizzarelli Trio. Pizzarelli takes the classic lineup of piano, guitar and bass to develop a superior sound.

If you’re craving a great evening of Jazz, you won’t be disappointed with the Bistro, the premier Jazz venue in St. Louis.

Glitter

Opens Sept. 21

The long awaited acting debut of Mariah Carey will take place this weekend when Glitter opens up across the country. A long list of other musicians also make appearances in the film.

St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

through Sept. 22

Maestro Hans Vonk conducts superbly talented pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet in music of Debussey, Tchaikovsky and especially Strauss at Powell Symphony Hall. Call 534-1700 for more information or to order tickets.

Better Than Ezra @ SLU

Sept. 26

Better Than Ezra joins Colony and also the Brand New Immortals on Wednesday, Sept 26. The show starts at 3 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. The show will be a night of great music.

The Student Activities Board will soon provide more details. The event is tentatively planned to take place on Laclede Avenue.
