The Residence Hall Association and residence hall councils held campus-wide elections Tuesday. Of the 31 positions available, only 17 were filled. The unfilled seats will remain open until someone is appointed to each. Griesedieck Executive Board President-elect Carolyn Abbott, a freshman in the Business School, plans to focus her efforts on improving the facility services offered in Griesedieck, such as vacuums, washers and dryers.
“I am definitely excited about leading Griesedieck in making good changes, mainly with facilities, and increasing the number of social events,” Abbott said.
RHA Executive Board President-elect Kristin Hoff is a sophomore studying psychology. She has had experience with the RHA in her two years at SLU, a member of the Programming Committee, and an RHA representative for Reinert in her freshman year. This year Hoff served as the Programming chairperson.
“In the past, RHA has been an advocacy-based organization, but now, under Student Life, we have become a programming body. I plan to help continue making this transition process as smooth as possible,” Hoff said.
She also wants to create more programs focused on building community and increasing spirit within the halls and throughout campus. Hoff has already begun working on plans and ideas for the summer and the fall.
