Saint Louis University student Adam Nicoloff was charged with involuntary manslaughter, following an auto accident at 2:15 a.m. on April 3, that killed a young boy and his grandmother, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Nicoloff is a senior studying in the John Cook School of Business.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Goodfellow Boulevard and West Florissant Avenue, where Nicoloff allegedly drove through a red light and crashed into another vehicle, killing two of the six occupants.
The Post-Dispatch reported 2-year-old Jarrell Beckham and Madelynn Loper, 58, died in the crash. Three other occupants in the car were taken to hospitals for injuries.
Police told the Post-Dispatch that several witnesses began beating Nicoloff after the crash but that he was not seriously injured. The article added that authorities were told by one witness that Nicoloff had been drinking.
St. Louis Police Department Sgt. Ron Klein confirmed that Nicoloff had been released on bond. Klein also confirmed that Nicoloff was not coming from a local campus bar, such as Humphrey’s or Laclede Street Bar and Grill, prior to the accident.
Klein said that since Nicoloff has been charged criminally, the specific police report is not available to those not directly involved.
