Student Activities Board President Eric Immel is excited about
Saint Louis University’s upcoming concerts.
SLU will welcome recording superstar Ben Folds on Friday, Oct.
8. He will be supported by Ben Lee and a yet unnamed opening
band.
“We have an act that very few people can criticize,” Immel said.
“One of the complaints that we always got was that we had outdated
performers. Ben Folds is still at the top of his game. People
across the board can enjoy this concert.”
The concert, booked by SAB, will be presented jointly with
Alumni Relations. Both organizations will provide funding for the
event.
Immel was very pleased with how quickly the concert came
together. “We booked him in early July, which is very good for us,”
he said. “It was amazing that SAB could come through this
quickly.”
Immel suspects that SAB could bring another big act to SLU for
the Spring Fever concert, which is usually held in April. He
encouraged students to give lots of feedback to SAB, so they can
explore all options.
He said, “We are going to start taking suggestions now, so that
we have plenty of time to book a good act.”
