Ladies: Eliminate your no-call hang-ups

The boy who doesn’t call could be any one of a million boys. In
fact, I would argue that every boy could fall under this category.
I can’t explain it. They can’t either, if you ask them.

They just know that when they do it–they’ve done it. Everything
could seem perfect, and then one day, out of nowhere, you don’t
hear from him. You call, and he doesn’t return your calls.

You wonder what you’ve done, or if your cell phone just isn’t
working. And then two days later you get the hint.

Or he’s the guy you met last Friday who got your number and said
he’d call, but you never heard from him. And, by the way, drunk
dials do not count.

Your friends will think of a million excuses for him, and you’ll
try to, as well. Quit hoping.

Throw the cell phone in a drawer and lock it if you must. Delete
his number (thwarting any drunk dials you might attempt in the
future). Don’t call him, and don’t wait for his call. If he does
call, it won’t be until you don’t care anymore.

My father is always a wonderful source of advice when it comes
to guys. He said, “If the guy’s not calling, he’s not being very
nice. When he does call you, don’t be too eager to pick up the
phone. If he’s left you hanging around, you need do the same in
return.”

Who knows what he’s thinking–you shouldn’t care. If you try to
figure it out you’re going to be wasting your time and energy.

One of my good-guy friends said it perfectly: “Some guys are
just jerks like that and don’t call. It’s a shame, but some are
like that.”

Ultimately, it’s his loss. You’ll move on and eventually find
someone new. He’ll be the one regretting it a year down the
road.

Personally, my favorite situation is when the guy calls a month
later to try to explain himself. They always have a creative and
elaborate reason. Seriously guys, do you think we care after that
much time has passed?

My advice: Laugh it off. Be pissed, be upset, but get over it
and move on. Don’t allow yourself to sulk, because he’s not even
worth the time.

You should be excited for who else is out there–you just
haven’t met him yet. So raise your head high and get out there.
You’re back on the market, baby, and better than ever!

He’s just another one to add to the history books.
