‘Tis the season…for a spring fling

It's that time again: Time to break out the Banana Boat, your pasty winter white body, hop in the car or head to Lambert. You're on your way to the best week of your life. Midterms are finished and you only have one thing on your mind: destination spring break!

From Acapulco to Colorado to Miami Beach, college students all over the country will migrate to the hottest places for a week of bliss. The only thing related to college that is, you guessed it, the thousands of college students who will join in the festivities.

Better bring your A-game: your spring fling is quickly approaching.

After a year and a half of papers, projects and tests spring break is a much needed relief, designed to allot 10 days for total relaxation…college style.

And after a depressing winter, a spring fling is the one thing on everyone's mind, which is the reason they work so well on spring break.

So work hard for those last few midterms because in two days, you're going to be miles away, and they're going to be the last thing on your mind. You have a tan and a week of bliss headed your way.

Single? This is the week of your dreams, if you plan accordingly. First thing on the agenda: Scope out all the hot, single spots at your place of destination.

From the beach to the clubs, you need to know the places to be and then you need to be there-and be seen!

You have an entire week and an overabundance of people to choose from.

Make the most of this. If you can find a fling to last you the entire week, you've accomplished what we all strive for. If you only find a fling for a night or two, that's good enough.

Attached? This doesn't have to ruin all of your fun, especially if you're with a group of singles.

It's all about your attitude. You can still go everywhere and have a great time. You just can't have a fling.

This doesn't mean you can't flirt! Enjoy the week away from your significant other. It will make you appreciate your time with him or her even more.

But make sure you don't do anything you're going to regret when you come back.

No matter where you are going, find some pleasurable activities that you can't do here at school: a day at the spa, parasailing, snowboarding or snorkeling. These can be great outings to suggest to your fling, which makes them that much more enjoyable.

Just make sure you're having fun. The last thing you need is someone who ruins your spring break experience.

This is just a fling. You can drop him or her at any point with little or no explanation. There are no rules, which is the best part about it.

You're single, and free to do whatever you want. Just make sure you come home with at least one good story to brag about.
