“Bicycling Billikens” program helps support community activities. A group of SLU faculty, staff, students and alumni have been combining their enthusiasm for bicycling with a desire to help various charity organizations in the area. Organized as the “Bicycling Billikens,” representatives from facilities services, human resources, campus ministry, ITS and other divisions of the University have been busy this year.
Some of the group recently rode between 50 and 100 miles to raise research money for the Diabetes Association, and are in training for the MS150, a two-day 150-200 mile ride benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
In part, some of this research money may end up back at Saint Louis University in the form of research dollars in the long run.
The event will be held on Sept. 8 and 9. More information on the ride and the work that the National Multiple Sclerosis Society does can be found at: www.mos.nmss.org/index.html.
