Coming to the Fox on March 17 as a part of his tour My New Orleans is big band crooner Harry Connick Jr., playing both old favorites and selections from his two new albums Oh, My Nola and Chanson du Vieux Carre. A Grammy, Tony and Emmy winner who has sold upward of 20 million albums, Connick Jr. has recently dedicated his efforts to helping his hometown of New Orleans rebuild, and, as such, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of his two new albums will benefit the city.
On March 23, the ’70s Soul Jam comes to the Fox, featuring a number of musical groups and artists who reached the peak of their popularity during the height of the 1970s. Though younger generations might only recognize some of these artists’ songs from the commercials for which they’re used today, groups like The Emotions, Chi-Lites, The Manhattans and The Stylistics sold millions of albums based on their greatest hits-hits they will be performing at this show.
The Fox welcomes singer Johnny Mathis on March 24 and 25. The Grammy Hall of Fame inductee is currently celebrating 50 years in the recording industry. After coming onto the scene in the 1950s, Mathis has performed for many of the great leaders of our time and holds the record for the most weeks on the Billboard Top Album Charts: 490 for his 1958 album Johnny’s Greatest Hits. Many of his hits from across the decades will be played in this show.
At the Fox beginning March 27 is the sensational Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the story of two con artists on the Riviera and the trouble they face when they get into trouble more than they counted on. The musical, hailed as hilarious and lyrical from its staging in New York, will run until April 8.
On April 11, the popular Irish dance show Lord of the Dance will come to the Fox. Choreographed by Michael Flatley, the show has essentially toured since premiering in 1996. With a large and continually growing fan base of dedicated followers, these tickets are most likely to get snatched up quickly.
The Isley Brothers come to the Fox on April 20 for a show sure to celebrate their long, successful history in the music business. Founded in 1954 by a group of brothers from Cincinnati, the group has crossed and propelled genres like R&B, funk, soul and rock with hits like “Shout” and “It’s Your Thing,” a song that won them a Grammy award.
On May 2, singing sensation Norah Jones brings her unique blend of soulful jazz to the Fox in support of her newly released third album Not Too Late, already a big seller. After her debut album Come Away With Me sold 20 million copies in 2002 and won eight Grammy Awards, Jones’ star has continued to rise, as has her talent.
