The Student Activities Board chose its president for next year in a vote on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The group elected Ainsley Onstott, a junior studying physical therapy and psychology, to take charge of the organization after current President Addison Killeen’s graduation in May.
As president, Onstott will lead SAB’s efforts to provide on-campus entertainment for students throughout the next school year.
“I’m pretty excited for the future. We have good leadership for next year. I think the organization will do quite well,” Killeen said.
Onstott became active in SAB as a freshman. As a sophomore, she served as chair of the Movie Committee. She is currently vice president of event planning, the position immediately beneath the president.
Onstott says that her priority for next year will be to listen to students and to provide them with what they really want. SAB will focus more on a few large events instead of many smaller ones.
About 30 active members of SAB participated in the presidential election.
