Q&A with Guster drummer Brian Rosenworcel

When did Guster originate?
Brian Rosenworcel: We were freshmen in college, so 1992.

Why did you decide to play at Saint Louis University?
BR: We are doing [concerts at] a bunch of colleges in October. After October’s done, we’re going to hit the studios.

What are you expecting at the SLU concert, as far as attendence?
BR: I’ve heard that a bunch of people have been e-mailing us [saying] that they will not be able to attend, so I’m sure that there will be a lot of curiosity-seekers, which gives us a chance to open up to new people.

Are you coming out with any singles or a new album soon?
BR: We are going to record songs in the winter. We are still trying to support our recent album, Ganging up on the Sun.

What are some favorite places you have performed?
BR: We like playing outdoors. We roll the dice with the weather, but it’s fun. We also enjoy playing at the Pageant in St. Louis.

Do you and the members of your band have any big plans for the stay in St. Louis?
BR: I’ve got some family in Missouri. I’m trying to get some guys in the band to go to Ted Drewes.
