The Student Activities Board announced their headlining comedian for Saint Louis University’s Fall Fest 2007: “The Daily Show” correspondent and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” writer, Demetri Martin.
“We think that this is a higher-touted comedian than we’ve been able to have in the past,” said SAB Vice President of Public Relations Kristopher Priemer.
Martin’s St. Louis stop is part of the comedian’s Demetri Martin: These are Jokes tour. In addition to his stints on “The Daily Show” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” the comic has been featured in “Comedy Central Presents” and 2002’s Analyze That.
“He has a unique brand of comedy,” Priemer said. “It could be considered a sort of observational comedy.”
Martin incorporates drawing sketches and playing songs in his act, focusing his material on everyday events and making the mundane entertaining.
Martin will perform on Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Busch Student Center Ballrooms at 8 p.m.
Free passes are available for SLU students with a valid SLU ID. Tickets may be purchased in Suite 335 of the BSC from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Seating is limited, and students are urged to arrive early.
