No one at Saint Louis University has tested positive for tuberculosis in the two weeks since the University announced that a housekeeper in DeMattias Hall had contracted the disease.
Student Health and Counseling has screened approximately 130 members of the University community for TB, falling short of the 250 that they had planned to test. In an announcement released on Thursday, Nov. 15, the University had asked all residents and staff of DeMattias Hall to receive the test.
Student Health and Counseling Director Deborah Scheff, R.N., M.A., said that it was very unlikely that anyone on campus had caught the disease, although she still wants more students and staff to be screened.
The sick housekeeper who contracted TB is doing well and is still at home receiving treatment, according to the Department of Housing and Residence Life.
