Saint Louis University’s Great Issues Committee will bring political analyst Paul Begala to campus on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Begala was an architect of Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign in 1992 and served as an adviser in the Clinton White House.
Currently a professor at the University of Georgia and a research fellow at Georgetown University, Begala has also worked as a commentator for CNN and as a consultant on many political campaigns, both in the United States and internationally. He has also penned several bestselling books.
Begala’s speech will be entitled “The Road to the White House: Analyzing the 2008 Election.” Organizers say that Begala will be drawing on his political expertise to make sense of Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaigns.
According to a GIC press release, Begala will analyze “the 2008 presidential candidates, their platforms and what it will take to win this intense election.”
Begala’s speech will begin at 7 p.m. in the ballrooms on the first floor of the Busch Student Center.
