Sen. Barack Obama was elected as the 44th president of the United States Tuesday evening. Cheers echoed across Saint Louis University’s Frost Campus as Obama crossed the threshold of 270 electoral votes to clinch the presidency.
The first-ever on-campus polling place was deemed a “huge success” by Dean of Students Scott Smith, who estimated that close to 1,000 SLU students voted on Tuesday.
More information on the polling place and student reactions will be included in this week’s edition of The University News on Thursday.
