Lisch fuels fourth straight victory

Derrick Neuner February 12, 2009
There's just something the Saint Louis University men's basketball team doesn't get about the first half of a game Try as they might, the team never connects during the first twenty minutes of play. Last night's game against Charlotte wasn't spectacular like the weekend win over Richmond Sunday that went to triple overtime; but it was remarkable in that the Bills managed a win even after going down by ten in the first half - a period that saw Kevin Lisch go scoreless.

For the casual Billiken basketball fan, it might appear as though a bunch of freshmen run on and off the court every game with no apparent plan in mind. Rest assured, however, a method to the madness has developed over the course of the season. Although Head Coach Rick Majerus has frequently stated, "starting is for high school," several players have proven their value as starters on this team.

AnOTher close win for Billikens

ADAM TAMBURIN February 5, 2009
After half a season, it's hard to come up with the right words to describe Saint Louis University men's basketball. But a few words do come to mind: dramatic, unpredictable and, like St. Louis weather, sometimes hot and sometimes cold. "You're looking at inexperience out [on the court]," head coach Rick Majerus said.

Baby Bills inspire hope for future

Joe George February 5, 2009
Freshman year. Good times. Just thinking about the whirlwind that was my first year in college makes me both reminiscent and groggy. I had to worry about keeping up with classes, meeting girls, making new friends, what I could and could not do in the Griesedieck complex, making sure my laundry stayed reasonably under control (still working on that one) and so on.

Lisch’s 24 not enough to prevent Charlotte victory
