Women’s soccer begins A-10 play 2-0

Fast starts in the Atlantic 10 Conference are nothing new to the Saint Louis University women's soccer team. Last season, the team disposed of their first two conference foes 9-0. Thus far, through two A-10 contests, the team is again undefeated and unscored upon, taking care of La Salle and St.

Calum Angus had to adjust to all the same things that a normal college student at Saint Louis University would have to adjust to. However, Angus also had a big adjustment to make on the soccer pitch as well. The junior from Portsmouth, England, said there are big differences between the style of play in England and the style of play in the United States.

The Saint Louis University women's soccer team is set to play La Salle University today in Philadelphia. The Billikens return home to finish the weekend on Sunday with St. Bonaventure in SLU's Homecoming match to cap their first week of conference play. In the lone match last weekend, SLU lost to Nebraska 5-1.

The volleyball match against Northern Iowa Sept. 25 proved to be an epic one bewteen champions. SLU, which was the Atlantic 10 Conference champion last year, defeated the Panthers, who were the Missouri Valley champions last year, 3-2 in five games. "We knew it would be a battle heading into the game," head coach Anne Kordes said.

Amy Wasserman is trying to cultivate skilled goalkeepers and create go-getting individuals. The senior field hockey goalkeeper coaches her sport at Aim, a St. Louis field hockey program for athletes in grade school, junior high and high school. Wasserman works extensively with club programs for those under-16 and under-19 years of age.

SLU women snag ‘Toys for Tots’ tourney title

In this past weekend's Toys for Tots tournament, Saint Louis University's women's soccer team earned the tournament title and added two wins to their season. "It was a true team effort; we worked really well together, and it all just came together," senior midfielder Mary Green said.
