Matt Salata September 13, 2007
The Patriots got off to an interesting start to the 2007-08 NFL season to say the least. They blew out the New York Jets in week 1 by a score of 38-14, although the Pats are being accused of videotaping the Jets sidelines and stealing defensive signs-a crime that could land them without draft picks for next year if found guilty.

Head women's soccer coach Tim Champion's policy for his student-athletes on the team is simple-if you don't go to class, then you don't play. "Academics come first, and if they go to class, they are going to do really well," Champion said. "We are flexible with practice times so if player has a conflict here or there, we work it out so that they don't miss class.

The Curse: Columnist laments K.C. “blues”

Patrick McShane September 13, 2007
I remember last year, in late October, looking around and seeing all the St. Louis fans going crazy-their team had won. All I could think was, "Man, I wish my hometown teams were World Champs." There is only one obstacle to that wish: I am from Kansas City.

Steve Root September 6, 2007
Blue and red. Colors for the American Civil War? Yes, but also for my civil war. That's right, I'm a Cardinals and a Brewers fan. Now, before you strike me down as a hypocrite or bandwagon fan, let me explain how this happened. Ever since I can remember, I've been a Cardinals fan.

Q&A with Jon Bell

Dan Hunninghake September 6, 2007
What were you expecting going into the Wash U. meet? Jon Bell: For me, this meet was a chance to get our feet wet. They have trained all summer, and we just wanted to get out there and compete a little bit. I wasn't looking of their personal best times, I just wanted to see how they would react under pressur in a competitive situation; I wanted to see where our summer training put us.
