SLU drops opener
Billiken fans should not be discouraged about the Field Hockey team’s 5-0 loss this weekend against Iowa.
The team starts out this season with a tough schedule, but they are embracing this as a chance to strengthen themselves as a team and improve.
In an interview last night on KFNS 590 AM head coach Shannon West along with new assistant coach Ryann Carmody spoke about the start of the season and upcoming games.
“Right now we are just practicing very hard everyday. The freshman are making an immediate impact adding depth to the line up. We also have five seniors who have three years of experience working with me. This is gong to carry us this year,” said West.
The Bills have a series of big matches coming up including a match up with Miami of Ohio. After two more road games the Billikens will return to their home field at the Anheuser Busch complex for a six game home stand.
