Season tickets for the 2001-2002 men’s basketball season are currently on sale at Bauman-Eberhardt Athletic Center.
The ticket package costs $25 for the entire 18-game schedule, including the game against the University of Missouri Tigers. The last day to purchase tickets is October 15.
The period for ticket sales was moved back to early October from the middle of September, in hopes that student interest would be greater as the basketball season quickly approaches.
The $25 price tag for the package would pay for a ticket to the contest with Mizzou alone.
Regular season tickets for non- students in the same area as the student section would cost $267.
The lottery system has been revamped this year. The lottery has been moved back and is now more student-friendly. The tickets will be given to the students the day of the lottery.
In previous years, students would have to pick up their tickets a few weeks after the lottery.
All tickets were printed with the students’ names on them, after the lottery.
The Department of Athletics is hoping that Midnight Madness will boost ticket sales.
Midnight Madness will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 12:01 a.m. Coaches Lorenzo Romar and Jill Pizzotti will speak. There will be dunk and three-point shooting contests, followed by a blue-white scrimmage of the men’s basketball team.
“Hopefully, Midnight Madness will be a last push for ticket sales,” said Director of Ticket Sales John Garrison. “We hope that people will get their tickets so that we can have Savvis packed, especially for the game with Mizzou.”
SLU’s home schedule is packed with nonconference powers Mizzou, Georgia Tech, Washington and traditional Conference USA rivals Cincinnati, DePaul, Marquette, Louisville and Charlotte.
