Swimming
The Saint Louis University swimming and diving team will compete in the Conference USA Championships this weekend at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. Last week, Kelly Tessar and Kristi Cottral were honored by the league as recipients of the Swimmer of the Week and Diver of the Week awards, respectively. Tessar earned two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in her three individual races last weekend against Eastern Illinois University. This is Cottral’s second recognition from C-USA this season. Against EIU, she swept the one- and three-meter diving events.
Hockey
Last weekend, the hockey club competed in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League Championships. Friday night, the team lost 3-1 to Ohio State University. Saturday, the Bills dropped a 4-3 decision against the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The team will face the University of Illinois in the first round of the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s Division I National Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Baseball
The Saint Louis University baseball team will open its season this weekend with a double header against Western Illinois University Saturday at noon. The teams will play a third game at noon on Sunday. Last year, the Billikens swept the three-game series against the Leathernecks but WIU leads the series 17-15-2.
Ultimate Frisbee
The Saint Louis University Ultimate Team walked away with five wins in a tournament in Little Rock, Ark. last weekend. The team defeated Kansas, Truman State, Harding College and Wichita State, and lost to Arkansas on Saturday. Sunday, the team split the day with a win over Hendrix College and a loss to Vanderbilt, finishing in third place.
