Lindsay Lombardo is a force to be reckoned with on Saint Louis
University’s field hockey team. Being one of only two seniors on
the team, Lombardo is doing her part to keep the team competitive.
She’s no stranger to playing time however, during her college
career, Lombardo has stated 68 of 69 games.
As a freshman striker, Lombardo netted seven goals and picked up
two assists.
The next season she picked up three more goals. Junior year she
made the move to midfielder/forward, and picked up six goals, the
second highest on the team.
The team has struggled for most of the season, going 0-9 through
the Indiana game Sunday night. Of the teams nine losses, seven have
been decided by just on goal.
Lombardo has started all nine games for the Billikens so far
this season, and has two goals, an assist and a defensive save.
Lombardo faces a unique scenario this season, as her sister,
freshman Angela Lombardo joins the squad.
The team’s next game is in Springfield, as the Bills take on
Southwest Missouri State.
SMS, after winning their season opener, have dropped eight
strait, including an 8-1 drubbing at the hands of the eighth ranked
Michigan State Spartans.
After the meeting with the Bears, the Bills start a five game
home stand and hope to get their season pointed in the right
direction.
