FINANCIAL VICE PRESIDENT: Vote Jonathan Perdue
Jonathan Perdue is believably sincere, and his genuine care for students has led him to campaign on what could be the most important feat for SGA: transparency. Perdue said that the student body as a whole should have access to the budget and, with Perdue, we finally believe that SGA will do its real job. Catering to the student body and voting for constituents’ needs is SGA’s role, and Perdue’s push for transparency in the Senate’s operations will alleviate student concerns that their money is arbitrarily tossed around.
A definite team player, Perdue again considers the students he represents as he advocates expediting the process of getting funding from the University to CSOs. Though his concept for special projects funding still needs fleshing out, this could mean either that Senate meetings drag on for more hours than usual or that students requesting funds are able to understand SGA’s decisions.
Howard has called it “destiny” that Perdue joined her ticket. We may not go that far, but she did luck out in finding a Financial Vice President who will display the money in SGA’s currently concealed pocket.
