Women’s basketball
The women’s basketball team rebounded from two straight losses to St. Joseph’s and La Salle by beating Massachusetts at home on Saturday, 71-65. Sophomore guard Katie Paganelli led the team with 21 points, followed by sophomore Theresa Lisch, who added 19.
On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Billikens squared up against A-10 leader George Washington (20-4, 8-2). Lisch led the Bills with 16 points, but GWU won the game 82-56.
Softball
Freshman Kristin Nicoletti earned two runs and went 3-4 batting in Saint Louis University’s first win of the season against Jackson State on Saturday, Feb. 16. The Bills went 1-2 at the Lion Classic in Hammond, La., dropping decisions to Tennessee-Martin and Southeastern Louisiana. As a team, the Billikens batted .320 over the weekend, but made 8 errors in 3 games.
This weekend the Billikens head to Fayetteville, Ark., for games against Northern Colorado, Creighton, Arkansas and Alcorn State in the Clarion Inn-Arkansas Invitational.
Men’s tennis
The men’s tennis team demolished McKendree on Friday, Feb. 15, 6-1.
The Bills won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches. The only loss for the Bills was at No. 1 singles, when Felipe Acosta dropped a close contest 6-2, 2-6, 3-6.
The Bills travel to Indianapolis on Saturday to take on Duquesne in an Atlantic 10 contest.
