After losing its first conference game to Dayton, the women’s basketball team rebounded with a solid win against Fordham, 64-48.
While Fordham kept pace with the Billikens throughout much of the game, the Billikens held Fordham to only 4 points in the final 11:43 to secure the win.
Junior Theresa Lisch had a game-high 19 points to keep her atop the Atlantic-10 leaderboard in scoring. Lisch currently ranks No. 17 nationally in scoring with an average of 19.6 points per game.
Junior Amanda Kemezys scored 17 points while senior Heather King added 12 points and 8 rebounds, indicating a solid distribution of points difficult for the opposition to defend.
The team will need more impressive displays over the next several games as the team continues its conference schedule with five road games over its next seven games.
The team travels to Philadelphia this Saturday, Jan. 17, to face La Salle and then plays Charlotte in North Carolina on Jan. 20.
