The Saint Louis University women’s basketball team suffered a loss last night at the hands of the Duquesne Dukes, 84-66.
Duquesne scored the first five points of the game and continued to dominate for the rest of the game. The Dukes led 22-12 at the 9:00 minute mark and 42-24 at halftime.
Despite the lopsided score, the Billikens shot 46 percent from the field; however, they scored just two threes and shot just over 50 percent from the free throw line.
This stands in sharp contrast to the Dukes, who scored 27 points from behind the arc and shot 75 percent from the charity stripe. Duquesne also had five players score in double figures on the night.
Theresa Lisch and Alisha Goodwin led the Billikens in scoring with 14 points apiece. Amanda Kemezys scored 11 points and Katie Paganelli added 10.
This latest loss drops the Billikens to 11-14 overall and 4-5 in the Atlantic-10. The loss is also the third in a row for the team, its second such streak this season. The Billikens now have five games remaining in Atlantic-10 play; however, four of these five games are against teams ahead of the Billikens in the A-10 rankings.
