The men’s and women’s tennis teams were both in action this past week, with the men capturing a 6-1 over Bradley while the women fell 6-1 to Missouri and by the same score to No. 73 Kansas.
The men won all three doubles matches. The doubles team of Ken Nordheim and James McArthur as well as P.J. Hendrie and Adam Reeb both won 9-7 while Jake Hendrie and Sean McManus were victorious 8-4.
McManus, Nordheim, McArthur, Jake Hendrie and Matt Gordon all scored victories in their singles matches.
“This is the best and most dominant we’ve played against Bradley,” Head Coach Jon Zych said.
The women struggled against their Big 12 conference opponents; however, sophomore Kasia Tomalak won twice for the Billikens, defeating Missouri’s Sofia Ayala 3-6, 7-6 (10-8) and Kansas’ Erin Wilbert 9-8.
“Everyone competed well against two strong teams. These matches will help prepare us for the rest of the season and, ultimately, the Atlantic-10 Championship.”
Both teams are in action this Friday as the men take on Eastern Illinois and the women travel to Depaul.
