The Saint Louis University women’s basketball team was unable to exact revenge on Charlotte for an early season loss, as the Billikens suffered a 70-58 loss Tuesday night at the hands of the 49-ers.
The Billikens started the game strong as they jumped out to an early lead; however, Charlotte went on a 13-0 run to recapture the lead.
The Billikens countered by going on an 11-4 run with junior Theresa Lisch scoring all of the Billiken’s 11 points.
The Billikens continued their good play through the remainder of the half and went into halftime holding a slim 34-33 lead. The game remained close in the second half until Charlotte went on a 13-3 run to pull away.
The Billikens were able to cut the deficit to single digits only once in the remainder of the game, eventually losing by 12.
The loss gives the Billikens a 10-12 record overall with a 4-3 mark in the Atlantic-10.
Lisch led the Billikens with a game-high 24 points. Sophomore Lauren Woods scored a season-high 13 points and junior Amanda Kemezys added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
