According to a statement released on Fri. Jan 7, men’s basketball player Willie Reed has been readmitted to Saint Louis University. Reed’s return to the University follows his suspension as a result of student conduct violations last spring and has been suspended since mid-fall.
The statement released by the University said Reed’s readmission to SLU is conditional, but he “is eligible to enroll in classes for the spring 2011 semester.” However, the statement said Reed is still not permitted to participate in the athletic program.
Similarly to the statement released in reference to Reed’s former teammate Kwamain Mitchell’s reacceptance to the University and team, the University said “administrators review the student’s total educational record, including academic standing and matters related to student conduct in making their decision.” The University said Reed’s record raised issues in both academic performance and other violations of student conduct separate from the sexual misconduct reported last spring.
Due to the issues found on Reed’s record, the University states Reed must fulfill a “series of conditions” and by doing so he will be able to remain instated at the University.
“The conditions require Reed to prove that he can be a successful student—inside the classroom and out—at Saint Louis University,” reads the statement.
Reed chose to not provide a comment to The University News about his reacceptance at this time.

All I have to say is that Reed and his father made complete asses out of themaeleves with the big media stunt. Willie should count his blessings that SLU let him back in after that negative publicity stunt he ran….really some billiken he is.
