Incoming freshman tennis player Brooke Urzendowski was featured in “Faces in the Crowd” in this week’s Sports Illustrated. Urzendowski, from Omaha, Neb., won her fourth consecutive Class A No. 1 singles state title with Marian High School, and did it with a broken wrist.
She was voted the girls’ senior tennis athlete of the year by the National High School Coaches Association. She will arrive on campus later this month and will participate on the women’s tennis team starting with their first tournament September.
