The Billikens have won the Atlantic 10 regular season title in baseball. The Bills (37-15, 17-7 A-10) clinched the title after sweeping Charlotte this weekend, who was predicted to win the title in pre-season baseball polls. The team continues its successful season winning more games than the 2010 team who went to the NCAA tournament.
The sweep of Charlotte means that will receive a first-round bye in the A-10 conference tournament. Dayton (14-7 A-10) could potential tie the conference record that the Bills currently hold if they win their last three conference games. The Bills hold the tiebreaker against Dayton for the A-10 regular season.
The team is currently on a seven game winning streak and is now done with their regular season conference schedule. The Bills will play Southern Illinois on Tuesday May 15th and then will to Evanston, Ill. to take on Northwestern to close out the regular season.
After the regular season ends, the team will travel to the Bronx, N.Y. for the A-10 conference tournament.
