The No. 17 Clemson University Tigers ended another historic season for the SLU Billiken baseball team on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers topped the Bills, 10-2 in an elimination game in the Coumbia Regional at the University of South Carolina’s Carolina Stadium.
Saint Louis University ends its season with a 41-21 mark, matching its recording-setting win total from last season. The Bills had lost to host South Carolina on the previous day, and the Tiger offense proved too much for SLU to handle. Clemson’s bats launched three home runs in the game, jumping out to a 6-1 lead after having three-run third and fourth innings. The Billiken offense was never able to find a rhythm, even when senior Alex Kelly capped off a stellar career by going 3-4 from the plate with a home run.
