Halliburton enters halls of fame

Head Swimming and Diving Coach Jim Halliburton has a couple things in common with Michael Phelps. The obvious link to swimming aside, few can claim to dominate the pool the way Phelps did last summer in Beijing and the way Halliburton has this past summer in Missouri.

Intramural league welcomes international students to SLU

While the number of international students attending Saint Louis University continues to rise, departments across campus are making adjustments to help make college life easier for these traveling scholars, and to welcome them to the SLU community. This year, the Department of Campus Recreation is doing its part by establishing an International Students Intramural League.

When Rick Majerus came to Saint Louis University almost two years ago, he was handed a team he didn't recruit, a team that hadn't seen the NCAA tournament in eight years: a team that didn't have a facility of its own. All that is changing. Head Coach Majerus has already added six new players to the SLU roster.

There was a time when rowing was the most prestigious and popular college sport in the United States. In the late 19th century, Harvard University and Yale University would draw thousands of spectators to their annual rowing races on the Hudson River. These days, sports such as basketball and football have surpassed rowing.

Billikens battle to best finish since joining Atlantic 10

The Saint Louis University men's tennis team brought its season to a close last weekend with a fourth-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament. The result is the best finish since SLU joined the A-10 four years ago. This year's squad also posted SLU's best overall record in over 10 seasons.

Seniors lead resurgence of ultimate club

Four years ago, the Saint Louis University women's ultimate Frisbee club was more social club than team. They had no coach to regulate practice or instruct about the intricacies of ultimate frisbee. They had fun, without a doubt-but they were not a team capable of eliciting fear from the opposition.

St. Louis Athletica to replace Billikens at Hermann

Saint Louis University will be the site for a different kind of soccer match this weekend. The St. Louis Athletica will host the Los Angeles Sol at Robert R. Hermann stadium this Saturday at 3 p.m. in a regular season Women's Professional Soccer match. Saturday's match will be just the third ever contest for the newly founded St.
