Bills drop two in Utah, fall in national rankings

After the Stanford win on Saturday, Sept. 6, the volleyball team staggered last weekend, dropping 2 of 3 at the Utah Classic. The Bills fell to No. 15 Purdue and host Utah but defeated Utah State. The team is now 6-3 overall for the season. "I knew after that big win that it would be tough," head coach Anne Kordes said.

Season slows with tie, loss

Last weekend, the Saint Louis University women's soccer team came out slow with a 2-0 loss against the Butler Bulldogs on Friday and a 2-2 tie against Vanderbilt on Sunday. Ashley Hayes proved to a forerunner for the Friday game. The junior midfielder had three shots against Butler.

After a weekend of upsets in college football, it's only fitting that the volleyball team should pull off one of the biggest upsets the program has ever seen. What's not fitting about the win over No. 3 Stanford last weekend is that Saint Louis University did not make an entrance into the Top 25 after the tournament concluded.

Defense secures SLU victory over Nebraska, tie with Missouri State

The women's soccer team went 1-0-1 this past weekend to remain undefeated this season in its annual Toys for Tots tournament at home. The team avenged its loss to Nebraska last year by downing the Cornhuskers 1-0, tied Missouri State 0-0 after going into overtime and showed a strong defensive effort on the weekend.

Field hockey drops two straight games

Field hockey is off to a rough start. Last weekend the team lost both its opening home games against Missouri State University and Indiana University. The pair of losses drops the team to 1-3 on the season. MSU edged out the Bills 3-2 on Friday, Sept. 5, while Indiana blanked SLU the following Sunday, 4-0.

Volleyball targets top-ranked teams

After the most intense preseason training in the volleyball team's recent history, the Billikens saw their hard work come to life in the Best Western Miami Invitational. For just the seventh time in the program's history, the team started the season 3-0 in its first weekend of play.
