Softball season begins with Lion Classic

Coming off a record-breaking year in 2007, the Saint Louis University softball team will return to the dirt this weekend in Hammond, La., for the Lion Classic. Featured teams in the tournament are Tennessee-Martin, Jackson State, Southeastern Louisiana, Grambling State and Mississippi Valley State.

Women’s basketball looks to bounce back from La Salle

The Saint Louis University women's basketball team fell at the hands of La Salle at home Sunday, Feb. 10, 61-42. The Billikens dropped to 9-15 overall and 4-5 in Atlantic 10 play with the loss. "The score speaks for itself," Women's Basketball Coach Shimmy Gray-Miller said.

The Saint Louis University men's and women's track teams are set to compete in their second Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the University of Rhode Island campus in Kingston, R.I. You'd think that after playing sports for my entire life and watching ESPN religiously every day that I would know exactly what makes a sport, well, a sport. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that this distinction is completely subjective. The Saint Louis University women's basketball team will do its part this Sunday to participate for breast cancer awareness. The Bills will play La Salle at 2 p.m. at the Baumann-Eberhardt Center that will be nationally televised on CSTV.
