Track team to honor Schutzman with 800m race

In order to honor the battle that sophomore Brigette Schutzman is fighting after her car accident Monday, Dec. 31, the Saint Louis University track and field team is in the process of planning an event to show support for Schutzman and her family. A standout on the cross country and track teams, Schutzman was making her way to a friend's house in Peoria, Ill.

Senior Brian Grazier always dreamt of playing professional soccer. His dream became a reality when the Colorado Rapids drafted Grazier in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Jan. 18. "I was really excited [about being drafted]," said Grazier, a senior midfielder for the Saint Louis University men's soccer team.

Former SLU forward exits MLS for Europe

Men's basketball The Saint Louis University men's basketball team went nearly seven minutes without a basket as Dayton pulled away in the second half for a 63-36 victory. The Billikens were looking for their second consecutive conference road win, but the Flyers sealed the win by sinking eight 3-pointers on the night.

Sorber earns spot on Hall of Fame ballot

Saint Louis University Assistant Men's Soccer Coach Mike Sorber was chosen as a candidate for induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame Jan. 15. The induction ceremony that will take place in Oneonta, NY, is scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 22-24. In his collegiate days, Sorber was a midfielder for the Billikens from 1989 to 1992, leading SLU to the NCAA semifinals in the 1991 season.

Florida training trip keeps swimming teams on point

For the men's and women's swimming and diving teams, the holiday break was a good way to prepare for their upcoming meet at Lindenwood University Jan. 26. "We went to Florida for a training trip, so we were in Fort Myers at Florida Gulf Coast University for seven days," Swimming and Diving Coach Jim Halliburton said.
