SGA announces ’04-’05 candidates

The Student Government Association’s election commissioner,
Senator Vincent Giacabazi, released yesterday a list of 24
candidates who will be vying for five executive positions in next
year’s SGA assembly.

With election day less than three weeks away, on Monday, Feb.
23, the robust field of candidates looks to keep hopefuls on their
toes, with five presidential contenders each trying to construct a
campaign that will distinguish its ticket from the rest of the
pack.

“It will force, especially presidential candidates, to be very
unique if they want to stand out from the rest,” Giacabazi
said.

He also said that he has worked to urge candidates to keep their
campaigning clean.

“There are bound to be grievances,” Giacabazi noted, adding,
“I’ve stressed in my meetings and correspondence to keep things
clean and observe the laws of the election.”

only the presidential candidates, will be held on Monday, Feb. 9,
at 7 p.m. in the Busch Student Center, room 170. The event, in

public.
