I am writing to inform you of my alarm and discomfort with the recent publication of the online comments.
In response to an article published on Jan. 15, entitled “On-campus critics may plant seeds of U.S. anti-Semitism,” someone with the screenname Katie posted a comment online on The University News’ website that began “Sorry, kid, but prejudice can’t be stopped.”
Jon Gold, the author of the article, is certainly not a kid.
By calling him so, it is merely a lack of respect.
While I think it is necessary to publish her view, was it necessary to include the first part of her comment? I do not think it added to her point and was definitely inappropriate.
